We reached a milestone on Thanksgiving day — cleaned out our locker and sorted out our belongings. Feeling more ready to go than ever, we treated ourselves with a two-day outing to San Francisco bay, on N62 GrayMatter — also an opportunity to check all the systems on the boat before the big trip. This could the last time we hang out in the bay — then it’ll be a straight shot out the Golden Gate (in 3 weeks!!)
We headed to China Camp State Park on Friday morning. But the wind was blowing directly into the anchorage. We ended up U-turning back to Paradise Cove, spotting another Nordy on the way
On Saturday, a SUP (Stand-up-paddling) trip at Angel Island State Park. It was a gorgeous day, spectacular SUP with SF cityfront and Golden Gate Bridge as background.
We settled down outside of AT&T park/South Beach Marina. Our previous sailboat, a Swan 40, was moored at South Beach for many years. In fact, that is where I experienced my first ever sailing trip with Mark. So we thought it might be fun to revisit, although this is the first time we anchored out here.
We had a bit rock&roll from the boat traffic, but with flopper-stopper, no problem
As the sun set down, an amazing view of the city
